In pursuit of sustaining and protecting the south west commonly spoken language,Yoruba.The light-up African Development Initiative, a non government initiative has has come up with a Yoruba Language Preservation Initiative’s Brain Trust Project,which is focus to save the yoruba heritage with her language through an educational contest to promote the south west heritage.
To achieve this project, the body has appointed Pensioners’ FM General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, as one of its members.
This is comtained in a letter signed by the project Coordinator, Mr. Olusola Macaulay, who stated that Dr. Tiamiyu’s appointment was based on his versatility and dexterity on the promotion of Yoruba Language and Cultural Values and a seasoned broadcaster of note who has a series of work done with UNICEF projects among others.
According to Mr. Macaulay, the project is designed to safeguard the yoruba language and cultural heritage by promoting language proficiency, creative expression, and cultural pride among young people from ages 15 to 18years old across the yoruba speaking region of Nigeria.
The Brain Trust Project coordinator added that the core objective of the project is to reverse the decline in the use of indigenous language among young people and ensure that Yoruba language remains vibrant and relevant to future generations.
Mr. Macaulay, who also described the Osun State born indegene Dr. Tiamiyu, as a symbol of Yoruba language and Culo re – birth, noted that his values are needed to impact positively in the quest to preserving Africa’s cultural heritage.
He further explained that , the project has been tailored towards some goals which including, enhancing fluency and proficiency in yoruba language, showcasing cultural expressions and instilling a sense of pride and ownership in yoruba identity and heritage.

Mr. Macaulay expressed the belief that the Brain Trust educational competition, which is a brain child of LADI,comprises experts and influencers, will provide strategic guidance and support to deliver the project successfully.
The appointment of Dr. Tiamiyu, a multiple award winning Broadcast – Journalist and media administrator, is another landmark achievement in his career progression spanning over 25 years.
Ewa Ede, the brain child idea of LADI, hopes to foster unity,community engagement, peace, and understanding amongst member States in the southwest.
