It was indeed a moment of love spiced with friendship as the families of Shaykh Sulaiman Arashi of Ibadan and Professor Dhikrullah Olurode from Iwo united through the Nikkah of their children Raheemah and Abduljallal.
Family, friends and colleagues of the celebrants as well as Islamic clerics, who came from far and near to witness the joining together of the new couple under Islamic injunction converged on a popular event centre located at Olodo area in Ibadan.
Delivering his sermon, an Islmaic Scholar, who is also the Chief Imam, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Muslim Community, Professor Idris Ayinde, emphasised on the profound significance of marriage in Islam as a sacred covenant of love, trust, and spiritual togetherness beyond a mere contract.
He reminded all present of the responsibilities the bride and groom were about to undertake, highlighting kindness, mutual respect, and compassion as the cornerstones of a successful marriage.
The new couple, along with their witnesses, later signed the marriage document, legalizing their union.
Special prayers were held for the new couple’s home to witness endless love, peace, Allah’s blessings and stability.
Speaking with Pensioners’ FM on behalf of the two families, father of the bride, Professor Dhikrullah Olurode, who expressed joy to see the couple embarking on the new life journey, advised them to see marriage in Islam as a partnership of three, the husband, his spouse, and, most importantly, Almighty Allah.
He urged the new husband and wife to always be conscious of their Creator by dealing with each other in love and understanding.
Professor Olurode also advised the couple to remember the importance of communication,honesty and patience in marriage at all times.
Responding, the new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Arashi, said, both of them have become a team that would be working together to build a home filled with love,happiness and contentment under the guidance of Allah and the Holy Quran.
Following the ceremony, a joyful wedding reception was held, where families and friends celebrated the union with delicious meals and lively conversation.
