Ibadan Discourse Group has sensitised future leaders on the leadership style of the late Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi.
The Ibadan Discourse Group is an assembly of elder statesmen from across the South-West.
The group, imbued with the mission to take desirable steps to integrate the values of the national heroes into the national political and leadership systems spoke on the theme “Fajuyi: Essential Values for National Leadership, during the sensitisation held at the Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan.
In his address, the Special Guest of Honour, Olusegun Mimiko, who is the former Governor of Ondo State, said courage, discipline, selflessness and other qualities of leadership Lt-Col. Fajuyi portrayed the values a nation needs to progress.
In their separate lectures, a Political Scientist, Professor Osiseoma Nwolise and a veteran Journalist, Banji Ogundele, emphasised on the sacrifices of Lt-Col. Fajuyi and his role as unity builder.
Earlier, Patron, Ibadan Discourse Group, Amb. Yemi Farounbi and Group Chairman, Chief Adebisi Adesola, said the group decided to focus on using Lt-Col. Fajuyi’s legacy to reflect on the state of leadership in Nigeria.
Speaking with newsmen, a cross section of participants, said the event would help them become diligent and responsible in their leadership growth.
The event brought together dignitaries, socio-cultural groups and veteran broadcasters, including the General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu
