The leadership, mentorship and professional legacies of the late ace broadcaster, Babatunde Olaniyi popularly known as “Tio common” should not be allowed to be wiped off the media space.
This was the key submission by the spiritual leader in charge of the church of White Ark, Ibadan, Prophet Olabode Giwa, to the professional offsprings of the late Olaniyi “Tio common”.
He encouraged them to immortalize his name and works through a Radio/Television programme or a dedicated annual event.
Prophet Giwa also emphasized that the late motivational speaker and author lived a life of sacrifice for humanity and the society at large through his career.
Among other notable media stakeholders at the 2nd remembrance gathering to honour the late “Tio common” include Mr. AbdulRasak Abdulganiyu, Mr. Oyetayo Oladimeji and Mr Dauda Kolawole who all agreed that Mr Babatunde Olaniyi left an indelible mark on the sand of broadcast media industry in Ibadan and across southwest Nigeria
Speaking with Pensioners’ FM, wife of the deceased, Lady Evangelist Olayinka Olaniyi “Tio common”, who said after two years, she still missed her husband’s love and care, appreciated family, friends and neighbours for standing by her and the children after the demise of their loved one.
“I missed so many things about “Ti O common” especially his deep love for me and children, his matured advices and mentorship.” – Lady Evang Olayinka Olaniyi lamented.
The late Babatunde Akanbi Olaniyi “Tio common” died two years ago on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the age of 67 and was buried on Friday, September 29th, same year.
