Eid-el-Kabir: Alaafin Charges Leaders on Welfare, Unity

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has called on his subjects, the Muslim Ummah, and all Nigerians to look beyond the slaughtering of rams and use the Eid-el-Kabir festival to imbibe the virtues of absolute obedience, sacrifice, and sincere love for mankind.

The first-class traditional ruler made this call from the ancient Oyo Palace in a goodwill statement issued by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye.

The monarch emphasized that the celebration is deeply rooted in absolute submission to the will of Allah, noting that the virtues of obedience and love are essential to the nation, as highlighted in his message.

He further urged the wealthy to support the less privileged, promoting charity and compassion toward neighbors, orphans, and the elderly.

This, he noted, is vital for national progress and fostering human empathy.

Oba Owoade highlighted that integrity and love are key to overcoming national challenges. He furthered his message by urging citizens to embrace unity and prayed for lasting peace and economic growth throughout the country.

The Royal father called on the nation’s politicians to put more emphasis on people’s welfare beyond the present political Jamboree ahead of the of cycle governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states, and the 2027 General Elections.

Oba Owoade prayed for the peace and stability of the country, especially in the wake of the current economic challenges and insecurity in the land.
