Akintunde, Agbaje, Bello Mourn Buhari

Senator Yunus Akintunde has described former President, Late Muhammadu Buhari as a man of integrity who gave his utmost in service to Nigeria.

In a personally signed statement, the Senator representing Oyo Central joined other notable Nigerians in reflecting on the life and legacy of the late statesman, who passed away in a London hospital after a period of illness.

“From Allah we come, and unto Him we shall return.”

“As the curtain falls on the life of President Muhammadu Buhari, I reflect on his reputation as an upright man—consistent in his beliefs and principles,” Senator Akintunde stated.

“Being President of Nigeria is no small task; it is an incredibly complex and demanding responsibility. Yet, President Buhari gave his best to the country. He was not perfect—just as no human is—but his commitment to national service was never in doubt.”

The Senator extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu on the loss of his predecessor in office, and to the Nigerian people on the death of a respected leader.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant his family the strength to bear this loss,” he concluded.

Barr. Akeem Agbaje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant, has described the late President Buhari as a figure who lived a life dedicated to the service of Nigeria.

He noted that while his passing was unexpected, it marks the end of a long chapter of commitment to national unity, discipline, and public stewardship.

“I extend my deepest condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari, the entire Buhari family, and all associates of the former president. The late Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with unwavering conviction, both in and out of uniform, leaving behind a legacy defined by discipline and patriotic ideals.”

An All Progressives Congress Stalwart in Osun State, Hon. Lukman Bello, who was a Senior Special Adviser on Social Intervention & Focal Person on National Social Investment Programmes to the former Governor of Osun state, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, has said that former President Buhari was a patriotic Nigerian.

The statement added that PMB did his best as a military head of state, Chairman Petroleun Trust Development Fund, PTSD and as a civilian president between 2015-2022.

Mr. Bello noted that the late former President will be remembered for his honesty and integrity, and a leader who fought corruption and did his best to re – position Nigeria among comity of nations that can be relied upon when it comes to national credibility.

While calling on Nigerians and African leaders to emulate the late former President Buhari’s virtues of simplicity and integrity,
Hon. Bello prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings, admit him in Aljanah and be with the family he left behind.
