The future of any Youth begins with present, hence the need to guide it through mortality and integrity.
This was the admonition by a Veteran Broadcaster, Chief Ayodele Adeyemo while counseling Nigerian youths against mortgaging their future.
Chief Adeyemo who was speaking as a guest of honour during a Special Recognition and Award of Excellence event organised by Fountain of Life Baptist Association, Ede, Osun State advised the youths not to involve themselves in destructive activities, urging them to be mindful of their lifestyle and get rich quick syndrome.
Chief Adeyemo who the organisers described as a highly respected broadcaster, public speaker, Public Affairs Analyst and a seasoned administrator, got nominated for the award in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of humanity.
He was also said to have been always active in community service, religious activities, and public discourse, using his skills and experience to make positive impact.
In a special charge by Rev. Olu Ogunwale of Mercy Land Baptist Church, Ede, called on Nigerian leaders to always be truthful and transparent in the handling of the nation’s common wealth.
Rev. Ogunwale noted that Nigeria needs a total transformation,hence the need for government at all levels to design policies and programmes to guide the youths and empower them for national development.
On his part, the Moderator of Fountain of Life Baptist Association, Ede, Dr. Gideon Adejumobi said the awardees were painstakingly selected for their service to the Lord in various capacities and the expansion of God’s work as their major concern.
He however charged them not to relent in service to God and humanity.
At the event, a member of National Assembly, representing Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Bamidele Salam, promised his committed to the task of providing selfless service to the community and raising true leaders through support for the youths.
Among other awardees included Chief Jonathan Adeleke, Dns Victoria Olayemi, Dr & Mrs Abayomi Lawal, Hon Akanfe Idowu, Pastor Johnson Shiyanbola, Dns. Alice Akinwande, Elder Sunday Akanfe – Atidade, Madam Oluwakemi Owolabi, Elder Rotimi Akanfe, Hon Nathaniel Adetona.
While posthumous awards were given to Rev’d Stephen Akinkumi Adeitan and Rev’d Dr Taiwo Ajibade Adesala.
Responding, Chief Ayodele Adeyemo, who described the award as a challenge that would spur him to serve more in the Lord’s vineyard, promised not to faulter in his duties to God,his community and humanity in general.
