Drama Scriptwriters, especially translators need to always abide by the rules guiding scriptwriting and translation.
This is to ensure professionalism and meaningful output of radio drama programmes
Assistant State Coordinator, Breakthrough Action Nigeria, BA – N, Ibadan, Oyo state, Mrs Funmilola Amosu, said this on Monday, at the opening of a 3-Day workshop for radio drama scriptwriters and translators in Ibadan, tagged “Adventure of Wazobia and Translation To Yoruba Workshop”.
Mrs Amosu called on the participants to make best use of the opportunity provided them by the workshop to deepen themselves in the art of drama scriptwriting and translation that would disseminate meaningful messages to the public.
On her part, one of the facilitators, Mrs Adebisi Adetunji emphasised thorough proofreading, comprehension of the script, desist from direct translation, importance of Proverbs, wise sayings and understanding of the storylines, to ensure professional delivery.
Mrs Adetunji charged the participants to open their minds to all aspects of the workshop in order to broaden their knowledge.
Participants at the Workshop including General Manager of Pensioners’FM, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu appreciated the organisers for the opportunity.
The 3-Day workshop ends on Wednesday.
