Hijrah 1446AH: Sabiganna Calls for Reflection, Unity among Muslims

The Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom and Chairman, Traditional Council in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Soliu Azeez has extended heartfelt felicitations to all adherents of Islam in the ancient town, council area, Oyo State and beyond on the occasion of the new Islamic Calendar, Hijrah 1446 AH.

This is contained in a special statement which he personally signed and made available to newsmen.

Oba Azeez disclosed that, Hijrah 1446 AH; the new Islamic Calendar remains a significant Islamic year while all adherents of Islam regardless of status and denominations commemorate the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina.

The Monarch maintained that the Prophet’s migration from Mecca to Medina was an historic and religious trip, while Muslims are to reflect deeply on its purpose.

He emphasised that they need to take lessons from it, because Prophet Muhammad(PBOH) is a charismatic religious hero as a result of the migration till today.

Oba Azeez expressed joy in joining the Muslim community in his domain and beyond to mark this significant event which symbolises the beginning of the Islamic New Year.

The frontline traditional ruler in Oyo state urged Muslims to see the occasion as a time for reflection, forgiveness, benevolence to all and spiritual growth among others.

He urged Muslims to use this occasion to strengthen their faith, engage in acts of kindness as well as promote peace and unity within their communities and respective places of abode.

The Iganna Monarch called for more synergy among the religious platforms, the adherents and however used the occasion to pray for progress and prosperity of Iganna indigenes at home and in the Diaspora.
