When residents of the community began to throng the area 4 house of Honourable Onifade, the unfriendly atmosphere at the place was enough to convince everyone that indeed, a mighty elephant has fallen. Honourable Onifade was a singular, unique and popular figure for his doggedness, determination and resilience to fight for the common man and the interest of his community.
He was an incorruptible leader. A man of quiet dignity and towering achievements, his clean record of service was a testimony to this allusion. A giant for justice, fair play and a down to heart human inspiration. He can not be easily forgotten about his singular resolute to fight a community traditional head and his cohort to a standstill when the landlords and landladies were authorised to renew their land tenancy.
Honourable Onifade equally played significant roles in the founding of airport community chairmen association as a parallel association to Alabidun 37 communities. Many people around both Alabidun and airport communities were greatly influenced by his selfless struggle for human dignity, equality and freedom. A friend of all, an enemy of none, who touched many lives deeply.Honourable Onifade devoted his life to serving his people both at Odeomu in Ayedaade local government area of Osun state and the state in general.
It is worthy to note that his principled stance and moral force contributed greatly in dismantling the system of oligarchy both at Alabidun and airport communities. The former member of the Osun state house of assembly strongly believed in “dream and work together”.
As his community remembers the good works of Honourable Sunday Onifade, people should continue to be inspired by his lifelong legacy and his call for a better and more egalitarian society.
