Abass-Aleshinloye Emerges Deputy National Chair as NALGON Emeritus Gets New Excos

The Forum of former Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria under the aegis of The Conference of NALGON Emeritus at its National Conference held in Abuja, has inaugurated its new leadership, under the chairmanship of Hon. Shabba Ibrahim, to pilot the affairs of the association.

It also approved the constitution of the BOT committee headed by the SGF, Senator George Akume, with aim of strengthening the unity and cohesion at the grassroots level for good governance.

Other members of the executives are Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye as the Deputy National Chairman, Chief Osita Ogene as National Secretary, Hon. Adamu Yahaya, National Publicity Secretary, Hon Gershon Kasuwa (Zonal Chairman North-East); Hon Abdulahi Maikano Chiromawa (Zonal Chairman North-West) and Hon Udoji Okolo Amedu(Zonal Chairman South East).

The BOT chairman, Senator George Akume while congratulating the new executive members for being found fit and worthy to be chosen and accordingly inaugurated among the pool of other equally competent and qualified members, admonished them to form a common front ,build unity and politics of oneness in all they do for efficient service delivery for Nigerians at the grassroots.

He added that there was the need to allow Local Governments to thrive, noting that this would engender development at the grassroots.

Other members of the BOT are Dr. Aminu Sanni Jaji Secretary, Senator Abba Moro, Rt Hon Abbas Tajudeen, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Philip Aduda, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Alhaji Idris Gobir, Gov. Peter Mbah ,Gov. Hope Uzodinma, Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, Gov. Abdulahi Sule, Senator Natasha Akpoti, Gov. Usman Ododo, HE Samuel Ortom, Senator Bukola Saraki, HE Ibrahim Idris, HE Nyesom Wike , Gov. Bagana Zulum.

In a remark, the deputy national chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye called for unity among members, emphasising the need for cooperation to achieve their common goals at the grassroots.

He also charged the people at the grassroots to be more sensitive and conscious in demanding good governance, projects, programmes and revenue, expenditure monitoring.
