The Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, has counselled Nigerians to give their personal health a priority over any other thing.
According to the monarch, it is common to see people spending so much to acquire property, cars and yachts to the neglect of their health and wellness.
Oba Lawal was declaring a programme of free basic medical tests, counseling and medication as part of activities lined up to mark his 70th birthday celebrations.
After participating in the well attended free medical check up, Oba Lawal who was visibly elated thanked God Almighty for making him to witness his Platinum birthday.
“Taking care of oneself is highly important. For instance, people service their cars monthly and buy expensive attires but do not remember to ‘service’ their bodies. We all need to be conscious of our health status.”
The Orangun of Oke-Ila , Oba Abolarin whose royal visit to Timi coincided with the programme, also seized the opportunity to undergo some basic tests.
In line with the Health Day programme of the Laminisa’s Platinum Birthday celebrations, Oba Abolarin said that with the present economic situation, Nigerians should be sensitive to the status of their body system, eat right and well so as to remain healthy.
The beneficiaries were full of gratitude to Oba Lawal for including the free medical check up and medication in the week long activities marking his 70th birthday.
The grand finale of Oba Lawal’s 70th birthday will climax on Saturday February 15, 2025 with a reception at Ede High School.
