Gov. Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Fuelling Crisis in Osun LGs

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has accused the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, of orchestrating a plot to destabilise the state by enforcing a non-existent court judgment on local government administration.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Governor Adeleke alleged that Oyetola, in collaboration with top security officials in the state, was planning to create chaos by attempting to reinstate sacked local government chairmen.

He warned that the move could trigger violence and disrupt the peace in Osun State.

The governor clarified that the affected chairmen and councillors were removed by court judgments before he assumed office, countering claims that they were dismissed through an executive order.

He emphasized that the Court of Appeal did not issue any consequential order reinstating them and urged legal experts to verify the rulings.

Governor Adeleke called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and instruct security agencies not to take unlawful orders from Oyetola, whom he accused of leveraging his relationship as the president’s nephew to influence state affairs.

He warned that any attempt to forcefully take over local governments in Osun would be resisted, stressing that governance must be guided by the rule of law rather than political interference.
