President, Ede Elders Council (Igbimo Agbaagba Omo Ilu Ede), Alhaji Sulaimon Adebayo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Alhaji Ibrahim Tijani Adekilekun, popularly known as Mallam Dende.
Sheikh Adekilekun, who until his death was the Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Society in Ede in Osun State, was a described as a highly respected Islamic scholar and religious leader who devoted his life to the service of Allah, Ede town and humanity.
In a condolence message jointly signed by Alhaji Moshood Adeniyi, Secretary of the Ede Elders Council, and Chief Ayodele Adeyemo JP, the Council’s Publicity Director, the group eulogised the late Islamic cleric as a devout servant of Allah whose legacy of faith, knowledge, and leadership will remain indelible in the hearts of the people of Ede and beyond.
The Council recalled that the late Mallam Dende was not only a spiritual leader but also an active member of the Ede Elders Council, where he consistently demonstrated zeal, wisdom and patriotism in the service of his community.
“Mallam Dende was a committed member of our Council and a guiding light in religious matters. His humility, dedication, and piety set an example for all who knew him,” the statement read.
While mourning his loss, the Council prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, the highest place of Paradise.#
The passing of Sheikh Ibrahim Tijani Adekilekun has left a huge void in Edeland, as both the Muslim community and the wider society continue to reflect on his immense contributions to faith, unity, and communal progress.
