Nigeria@65: MTG Holds Dialogue On Rule of Law

The Media Transformative Group (MTG) a group of forward thinking business leaders in the media industry is set to host a significant national dialogue as Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence anniversary.

The event, themed “Nigeria @65: Rule of Law: Systemic Problem, The Way Forward,” is scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the IACD American Corner, Magazine Road, Jericho, Ibadan.

Distinguished Speaker, Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, will deliver the keynote address.

The session will be chaired by Dr. Yemi Farounbi, media icon and diplomat, with Deacon Owolabi Oladejo, Chairman Broadcasting Organization Nigeria BON southwest as Co-Chairman, while the Sabiganna of Iganna, Oba Saliu Oyemonla Azeez will be the Royal Father of the Day.

Notable thinkers including Dr. Festus Adedayo, a seasoned Journalist, political scientist and lawyer, Dr. Sulaiman Olanrewaju, Chief press Secretary to the Oyo State governor, Dr. Oluwakemi Aremu a human rights activist and socio-affairs commentator, and Mr. Jide Bamigbose of JDPC Ọ̀yọ́ state will participate as panelists.

According to the director of Publicity and creativity, Stephen Adedigba, the discussions will center on strengthening democratic institutions, judicial independence, and promoting good governance in Nigeria.

“The dialogue seeks to foster conversations galvanizing stakeholders toward upholding the rule of law for national development. Our expectations is to explore area of challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic and judicial systems, charting paths toward meaningful reforms, encouraging stakeholder collaboration on rule of law, fairness, equity and accountability issues.” He added

MTG has extended invitations to media organizations, major stakeholders, groups and voluntary associations for participation, aiming for impactful engagement on Nigeria’s development trajectory.
