Old Students of Wesley College End 120th Anniversary in Grand Style

It was a homecoming event for Wesley College Old students’ Association as they rounded off the 120th anniversary of their alma mata with fun and awards of recognition.

The event which coincided with change of leadership baton in the association also featured presentation of awards to distinguished members for their immense contributions towards the development of the school.

In an interview, the outgoing President of the association, Dr Frederick Odutola explained that numerous projects had been executed in the school due to the generous donations from members

Dr Odutola who urged government to work towards the conversion of Wesley College of Science to tertiary institution as done in similar schools stressed the need for parents to instill discipline in their children which he said had disappeared from the new generation of students of the institution.

On his part, the incoming president of the alumni association, who is also a Professor of Management Science, Osun State University, Oyekan Ayantunji said his team would sustain the tempo of progress made in the school by the outgoing executives.

He pledged to deepen collaboration among executives while also creating a connection between old and new members of the alumni association.

In his reaction, one of the award recipients, who is also a former general manager, federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal station, Deacon Femi Oladipo, pledged to collaborate with the other executive members for the improvement of the college.
Apart from new executives that were sworn in, the event equally enabled members to unwind with some moment of nostalgia about memories of their days as students at the college.
