The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has congratulated Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, General Manager of Pensioners FM, on his recent recognition as the Indigenous Newscaster of the Year (Male) at the Pacesetter Entertainment Recognition Awards.
In a statement jointly signed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Akeem Abas, and Secretary, Dayo Adu, the union described the award as well-deserved, highlighting Tiamiyu’s professionalism, dedication, and consistency in promoting indigenous-language broadcasting.
The council applauded Tiamiyu’s contributions to the development of media in Oyo State, particularly his commitment to delivering credible news content and maintaining high ethical standards in broadcast journalism. According to the statement, the recognition underscores the importance of indigenous language journalism in preserving culture and enhancing public understanding of news and socio-political issues.
