BREAKING: [PHOTOS] Anthony Joshua in Road Crash in Nigeria, Two Die

World heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua was on Monday involved in a fatal road accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area of Ogun State, leaving two persons dead, according to reports by The Punch.

Eyewitness accounts said the accident occurred on a busy stretch of the highway when the Lexus Jeep conveying Joshua reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are yet to be fully explained.

The crash was said to have happened close to Danco Filling Station, near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound lane.

A witness and member of the rescue team, Adeniyi Orojo, told Punch Online that the boxer sustained minor injuries and was rescued from the wreckage.

However, two other persons were confirmed dead at the scene due to the severity of the impact.



According to him, the accident happened shortly before Danco Filling Station on the inward Ibadan axis of the expressway. While Joshua survived with minor injuries, the victims reportedly died instantly.

Following the incident, images from the crash scene circulated widely on social media, sparking concern among fans and the general public over the safety of the boxing star.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and traffic officials were said to be investigating the cause of the crash.
