Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Lukman Afolabi ( Abere Soose) has celebrated the posthumous 71st birthday of late Chief Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, the first civilian governor of the state.
In a tribute issued by the chairman on Thursday, Afolabi reflected on the legacy, leadership, and selfless service of the late Adeleke.
He described the late statesman as a father, mentor, and great leader whose vision and dedication to the people of Osun State remain unforgettable, years after his passing.
“Although Senator Adeleke is no longer alive, his commitment to accessible governance, courage in leadership, and selfless service continues to inspire political actors and citizens across the state.
“Those who worked closely with him noted that his style of leadership prioritised the welfare of the people and unity among diverse communities.”
Afolabi further reaffirmed a renewed commitment to the ideals he stood for, particularly the progress of Osun State and the promotion of unity and inclusive leadership.
“As Osun residents remember the late governor on this solemn anniversary, prayers were offered for the continued repose of his soul, with many describing his legacy as one that remains deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.”
