An Ibadan based Socio – cultural group, De Western Caucus has congratulated one of its members and veteran Journalist, Comrade Olugbemiga Ayoade on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin the first.
In a congratulatory message signed by the group’s leaders, Messrs Kola Oyekanmi and Joshua Akinola, they described Comrade Ayoade’s new appointment as a round peg in a round hole considering his antecedents in the media circle.
According to the message, his appointment did not come as a surprise to the group considering his litany of achievements in human endeavors.
The message added that Comrade Ayoade stood out among his peers as he always preaches peace ,commitment, progress, hard work , honestly and way forward for the society.
It added that Comrade Ayoade served Oyo State meritoriously as a Director in the department of Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilisation in the then Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism where he was publicly acknowledged as a thorough bread senior civil servant by the then Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi of blessed memory.
As an erudite scholar, he is the General Secretary of Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Aperin – Oniyere 1978 Old Boy’s Association.
Comrade Ayoade is a professional journalist, having served meritoriously, as the treasurer, vice chairman and the chairman of Oyo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and currently, chairman Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of Oyo NUJ.
The message also stated that as an illustrious son of Eleruko compound, Oke Ofa Baba Isale, Comrade Ayoade always champion the cause of Ibadanland anywhere he finds himself.
The group however reiterated its belief that the Chief Press Secretary to Oba Olakulehin would use the new position to contribute his quota to the progress of Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
