Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Oyo State Chapter, has called on parents to get their girl child vaccinated against Human Papilloma Virus, HPV.
The State Chairperson, Women Wing of CAN, WOWICAN, Dr Patricia Amaechi-Obi, made the call in an interview with Pensioners FM.
Dr Amaechi-Obi joined her voice with United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, and other stakeholders to insist that HPV vaccine would not reduce child bearing but to prevent cervical cancer.
She also called on victims of Gender Based Violence, GBV, to make it a point of duty to speak up.
According to Dr Amaechi-Obi, speaking up would help victims get appropriate help and also aid punishment for perpetrators.
