Friendship, trust, forgiveness, kind and effective communication between couples have been highlighted as impetus for long lasting marriage relationship.
Professors of Economics at the University of Ibadan, Adedoyin Soyinbo emphasize these virtues while speaking of the traditional marriage between Itunu Agbonjinmi and Kehinde Balogun in Oyo town.
Professor Soyinbo, who chaired the event called on the new couple to place home in love, understanding and trust in God, called on both families to give husband and wife the needed space to work out their marriage without interference.”I want to appeal to families and friends to give the couple a chance to work the mechanism for a happy and stable home.”
The special Guest of honour on the occasion and member representing Ibadan Northwest state constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Dawood Olalere “D Al Ameen” admonished Mr Balogun and Mrs. Itunu Balogun to build their home on love and mutual trust. “Be open to each other in everything and make sure God is the cornerstone stone of your home “
Appreciating their parents and guests on behalf of himself and his wife, the groom, Mr. Kehinde Balogun who explained their marital journey started from a three years of friendship, noted that what brought them together was more than physical attraction.”Over a period of three years, we have been able to study each other well. Although there is no perfect marriage, we shall commit others things to God as the pillar of our union.”
