The newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Information and Orientation, Mr. Rotimi Babalola has been described as a thorough bred civil servant, well grounded in administration and protocols for effective service delivery.
This was the consensus of his family, friends, colleagues and media executives at a special reception held in Ibadan to celebrate his elevation to the new status in the state’s civil service.
In a remark, the Chief Press Secretary to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Mr. Sulaiman Olanrewaju, said the celebrant embodies virtues of hard work, humility and open mindedness in the discharge of his duties.
In her remarks, UNICEF Lagos Field Office, Social Behavioural Change Consultant, Mrs. Aderonke Akinola – Akinwole eulogised Mr. Babalola for always being a deadline conscious working partner on every project and assignments.
Family members of the celebrant, friends, colleagues and media executives at the event appreciated Mr. Babalola for being a symbol of humility, reliable partner and a pride to the media profession.
Responding, a surprised Mr. Babalola, who almost betrayed emotions at the show of love, appreciated those behind the initiative while promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities.

“I was short of words when I arrived at the venue,and tried as much as possible to hold myself from betraying emotions,because I was surprised and shocked asking myself if I was this important to be this honoured.
My prayer is that the Lord will replenish every pockets that contributed in hundred fold,and on your day of honour you will not be left alone. People will be there for you all the time”.
Appreciating those who contributed one way or the other to hosting of the celebrant, the coordinator of the event who is also UNICEF Mobilisation Officer at the Oyo State Ministry of Information and Orientation, Mrs. Adeola Adewole, stressed that Mr. Babalola deserved the celebration considering his cordial relationship with professional colleagues, subordinates and other categories of people across the divides.
The highlight of the event was a special prayer for the celebrant to be successful in the new position.
