Education has been described as a critical tool for national development and youth empowerment.
This was the submission of some Islamic Scholars at the annual Ramadan symposium of Conference of All Muslim Organisation of Nigeria, CAMON, held in Ibadan.
According to the Islamic Scholars, who are also guest speakers, Dr. Basir Elesinmeta, Professor Abdulrahman Abdullahi and Professor Dhirullah Yagboyaju, a country without education will lag behind in developments.
Speaking on the theme, “Education and National Development in Nigeria: The Intersection”, Dr. Elesinmeta, Professor Abdullahi and Professor Yagboyaju, said education goes beyond the four walls of the classroom, calling for more practical innovations that would enhance national development.
Speaking further on a sub-theme “Technical Education And Youth Empowerment for Growth, Dr. Elesinmeta, Professor Abdullahi and Professor Yagboyaju called on Islamic stakeholders to invest in youth empowerment to curb moral decadence in the society.
Earlier, Chairman, Planning Committee, Alhaji Isiak Salawu while appreciating the guest speakers for the lecture, said the topic was picked in line with CAMON’s interest in education.
