PDP Inaugurates Adeleke-led Caretaker Committee in Ekiti

In furtherance of the moves to re – establish its foothold in the region ahead of coming elections, the People Democratic Part, PDP, Southwest has inaugurated its newly constituted caretaker committee in Ekiti State following the expiration of the tenure of Engr. Alaba Agboola-led Executive Committee.

The swearing – in ceremony of 23 – member committee led by a chieftain of the party, Honourable Dare Adeleke at the party’s Zonal Secretariat, Old Bodija Estate, Ibadan was performed by the PDP Southwest, National Vice Chairman, Barrister Kamarudeen Ajisafe in accordance with the provisions of Section 21(2) (a-b) of the PDP constitution.

The Southwest National Vice Chairman, who inaugurated the committee on behalf of the National Working Committee, expressed confidence in the newly constituted committee’s ability to harmonize, reposition, and lead the party to victory in the state.

In his acceptance remark, the Ekiti State PDP CTC chairman, Hon. Dare Adeleke, assured the readiness of his committee to hit the ground running.

He stated, “Our all-inclusive agenda will include party discipline, reconciliation, unity, welfare, teamwork, renewing confidence in the party, etc., and ensuring a smooth transition of party leadership to Ekiti PDP leaders through the conduct of credible congresses as directed by the Party at the National level.”

In an interview with Pensioners’ FM correspondent shortly after the inauguration, the Committee’s Secretary, who is also the Osun state Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon. Maruf Ayofe assured the leadership and members of the party that the Ekiti PDP CTC will leave no stone unturned to bring every stakeholders back under the party’s umbrella for future electoral success in the state.”

Our addendum is to reposition the party and make it more vibrant in Ekiti state.The people of the state love PDP and are always ready to cue behind it in future elections.”

At the event which was attended by party stalwarts from the six states of the region, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbalarumin, urged the Ekiti PDP Caretaker Committee to work assiduously for the party to regain it rightful place in the region.

Earlier in a remark, PDP Regional spokesman, Chief Sanya Atofarati, commended the leadership of the PDP under Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke for providing the enabling environment for the party to thrive in the region.
