Stakeholders have been urged to consistently devise initiatives that will safeguard the health and welfare of women and children.
The Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Information aid Orientation, Mr. Rotimi Babalola, gave the charge while declaring open a three-day MOI/UNICEF Content Creation and Message Development Workshop for IEC materials, held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Mr. Babalola encouraged the resource persons and participants to develop solid and effective community engagement materials that would communicate key messages clearly and within the stipulated time frame.
Welcoming participants to the workshop, the Programme Director in the Ministry, Mrs. Bukola Bakare, expressed appreciation for their commitment to promoting the health and welfare of women and children.
She emphasized the importance of addressing issues such as pregnancy, childbirth, immunization, caregiving, and other related concerns.
In her remarks, UNICEF Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Specialist, Mrs. Aderonke Akinola-Akinwole, urged participants to view the workshop as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to saving the lives of women and children, thereby helping to build a healthier society.
She also outlined the workshop’s objectives, noting that it aims to produce a comprehensive guide on thematic areas for effective community engagement.
Leading the technical session, Community Engagement Consultant, Mr. David Iliya called for active collaboration among participants to ensure a robust and impactful outcome.
Participants at the Co-creation workshop were drawn from across the South-Western states include representatives from Ministry of Information, States Health Educators, Media, and Non-Governmental Organizations.
Among the Media Experts at the 3 Day Workshop which ends on Thursday include Controller Programmes,Radio Nigeria, Ibadan,Mr. Moses Morenikeji and Pensioners’ FM General Manager,Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu.#
