UIMGA Splashes over N1m Scholarship on 21 Students

As part of efforts to support indigent students, the University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates Association, UIMGA, has awarded scholarship worth one million and fifty thousand naira to twenty one students from different higher institutions in Nigeria.‎

The National President of UIMGA, Alhaji Abdulmajeed Imran, made this known during the 19th edition of the Association’s annual scholarship presentation, held at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.‎

According to Alhaji Imran, the beneficiaries included 18 students from the University of Ibadan, and one each from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Bayero University Kano, BUK, and the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN.‎

Alhaji Imran encouraged the beneficiaries to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and giving, urging them to support others when they are in steady position to do so in the future.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of UIMGA Scholarship Committee, Engr. Abdullah Adelakun, emphasised that the primary goal of the scholarship was to support students in accessing quality education with less financial strain. ‎ ‎ ‎Engr. Adelakun encouraged the recipients to remain committed to their academics and upon graduation, give back to the association to help more students to benefit from similar opportunities.‎‎

In their goodwill messages, UIMGA Vice President, Dr Sherifat Aboaba, and the General Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, appealed to the beneficiaries to always show appreciation and extend kindness to others, just as they have benefited from UIMGA’s gesture.‎‎‎

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to UIMGA members and other donors for their continuous support in helping student’s access quality education.

They pledged to uphold the values and legacy of UIMGA, and be committed to offering similar gesture in future.
